The Processing Fee

Permanent Residence Fee

The Biometrics Fee

You and your family members (excluding children under the age of 14) must provide biometric data if you are from a country that requires it. The charge is $85 per applicant, with a maximum of $170 per family applying jointly.

Status Updates From AOR To PPR Canada

When you receive the AOR, your application will generally take the following path. The majority of applicants are following this trend. It’s possible that it does or doesn’t match your application process:

Background check: “Not applicable” (NA1)

When you finish your EE application and get your AOR, the “Background check” portion of your application status will display “Not applicable.” Your medical records will normally not be reviewed and validated until your status has been changed.

Medicals passed (MEP)You should get this message “You passed the medical exam” roughly one month after your AOR. Applicants with a provincial nomination will often need more time.

Background check: In Progress (IP1)
